woffee: where wi-fi, work and coffee connect
[woffee (definition): going to a venue which can be used for flexible working. Derived from wi-fi, work and coffee]

The inexorable increase in flexible working (outside the office and home), mobile computing and communications (mobile phones, iPads, laptops and other devices), and consumption of coffee or other refreshment, has led to an equally inexorable search for venues that are suitably equipped to meet those demands.

Not every coffee shop or hotel reception area is either suited or equipped to meet this demand, and those that are may not want the customers it brings: it’s well documented that some venues are dissatisfied with the space and time occupied by ‘flexible workers’ relative to the money they spend (too little).

However, other venues recognise that the flexible workers during the day can also be the same people who return with family or friends in the evening or at the weekend, so embracing these customers is key.

Either way, the requirement is simple: mobile workers need more venues that are suitable, and they need the means to find them.

Now, there is also a simple solution:

Good venues for customers

Woffee accredits venues according to the quality of their facilities, checking that they provide a suitable working environment and facilities (whether it’s robust wi-fi, good workspaces, or quality coffee).

And users will be able to review venues, ensuring that they maintain standards through the year.

Customers simply visit on their mobile device to search for and find venues in the area they’re visiting. is designed to work fast and easily on all mobile devices: no need for a special App.

Great business for venues

Whether it’s an independent coffee shop, part of a chain of coffee shops, a restaurant, pub or other venue, woffee will bring new business through:
- Attracting more customers
- Increasing the utilisation of your venue
- Creating a meaningful return on wi-fi investment
- Promoting sites through social media
- Building and connecting with your venue’s online presence

What does it cost?

For customers – nothing.

For venues – are currently running a launch offer (September only) – the first 6 months is free, giving woffee time to demonstrate that it works, and giving you time to assess what it delivers. After that, you decide what service level your venue requires from woffee and pay a monthly fee (the top level for full, gold star accreditation is only £30 per venue).

A ‘win, win’ proposition

If your business has the facilities, has wi-fi (or recognises the need to provide wi-fi going forward), and has capacity for new or more customers, then must be worth a look: there’s nothing to lose, plenty to gain.
